Fair Play is a tense relationship story starring Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich that looks at gender politics and power issues at work. The movie that Chloe Domont writes and directs has a lot of fire and a great sense of building tension. However, the movie falls short in its attempts to make fun of Wall Street society and manhood.

1. The Village

Described by Netflix as a relationship thriller, this one stars Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor and Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Alden Ehrenreich as Emily and Luke. They work at a cutthroat financial firm, where it’s against company policy to date coworkers, so they keep their relationship secret. But when Emily gets promoted, Luke begins to feel he’s been left behind.

While it might be easy to dismiss The Village as the moment that “promising young director M. Night Shyamalan” went from “talentless idiot” to “completely irredeemable,” the film explores interesting emotional territory in allegory. It also boasts a stellar cast, including Sigourney Weaver, Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody and Bryce Dallas Howard. Plus, it’s a lot of fun. And it has a pretty cool twist at the end.

2. Slumdog Millionaire

The idea of an uneducated street rat from Mumbai’s slums winning a TV show that hinges on worldly knowledge seems like the stuff of pure fairy tale, but director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Simon Beaufoy pull it off with such a buoyant sense of spirit and drama that no cynicism is required.

Boyle’s use of bold color, extreme camera angles and Bollywood music conveys Jamal Malik’s rags-to-riches story as a celebration of fate and social camaraderie, not a dissection of morality or plausibility. And while the actors—particularly Dev Patel as Jamal—are incredible, it’s Boyle who deserves the most acclaim for making such an eye-opening, heartfelt yesmovies film.

The Bridgerton star flaunted her toned midriff in a quirky metallic co-ord while posing with fellow stars at the swanky event. The actress paired her chic outfit with a pair of stilettos.

3. The Last King of Scotland

After two fantastic documentaries which used adventurous recreational techniques to illuminate their subject matter, director Kevin Macdonald moves to narrative features for this brutal portrait of ruthless dictator Idi Amin. The Last King of Scotland may not have as much flair or nuance as his previous works but it is still a compelling tale about the insidious ways in which the West, and in particular the Caucasian world, exploits its privilege in other nations.

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor showed off her chic style as she attended the Louis Vuitton 2023 Womenswear Cruise Collection runway show in Park City on Friday. The 27-year-old actress opted for a stylish black ensemble. The British actress also looked stunning as she attended the Tao Park City afterparty featuring Casamigos in Utah on Saturday. She paired her dress with a pair of boots made for walking.

4. The Impossible

Phoebe Dynevor has been a rising star in the acting world, most famous for her role as Daphne in Netflix’s hit drama Bridgerton. Here, she stars with Alden Ehrenreich as they explore the shifting relationship dynamics of their characters as their careers take precedence over each other.

Written and directed by Chloe Domont, this erotic thriller is a brutal look at the destructive gender dynamic of office politics. It received rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival, leading to a bidding war for distribution rights. Netflix secured the film for $20 million, a huge sum for an independent movie.

While the story focuses on a single family, The Impossible is still a riveting account of survivalism and humankind in crisis. J.A. Bayona, who also helmed The Orphanage, proves himself to be a master of scene construction and mesmerizing suspense.

5. The Shape of Water

Guillermo del Toro is a genre geek to the core, and at his best (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Devil’s Backbone, Crimson Peak), he fuses his passion with a director’s eye. The Shape of Water, his latest film, is no exception. The movie is part fairy tale, part science fiction, and a whole lot of fun. But it also offers a lesson, subtle or not, about prejudice.

Sally Hawkins’s nonverbal performance is nothing short of remarkable, capturing a wide range of emotions with seemingly effortless embodiment. She is a force to be reckoned with in this otherworldly fable. It’s one of the best movies you will see this year. Go and see it! You won’t regret it. Trust me on this. You’ll love it forever. I sure did! . -Phoebe Dynevor. She looked sexy in her metallic co-ords at the event.
